Nathaniel “Petey Pie” Mays, 68, of 135 W. Main St. Ext. Ware Shoals, SC, passed away Sunday September 2, 2018 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Mary Frances Roman Mays.
Nathaniel worked for Tom Langston for many years until he retired.
Nathaniel was known as the life of the party. Whenever you would visit him, he would meet you with a big smile, tear jerking joke and his unique one of a kind laugh. Nathaniel was a huge Otis Redding fan. On Saturdays when you would visit him, the melodies of Otis Redding would meet you at the door.
Nathaniel was truly one of a kind and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Memories of his life will be cherish by his sisters, Margaret (Freddie) Robinson, of Honea Path, SC; Betty Mays Brenson, of Ware Shoals, SC; Olivia (Lester) White, of Anderson, SC; James A. Mays, of Plum Branch, SC; John A. Mays, of Ware Shoals, SC; and a host of many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family is at the home of his sister, Margaret (Freddie) Robinson, 25 E. Glendale St., Honea Path, SC.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Saturday September 8, 2018 at the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Ware Shoals, SC.
Viewing will begin at 12 Noon until 8PM Friday September 7, 2018 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home.
