Mrs. Agnes Lucille Smith Suber, 96, daughter of the late Alonzo Smith and Lydia Louise Smith, was born August 31, 1926 in Abbeville County, South Carolina.
She joined Mount Lebanon A.M.E. Church in Due West, SC at an early age where she served as a stewardess. Agnes was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Dave Suber on June 13,1942. This union was blessed with six children:David Jr, Charles Eugene, Mattie Mae, Mary Helen, Margaret Ann and Kenneth Andrew. She was a dedicated homemaker who made sure everyone in her care was nurtured unconditionally. Mrs. Suber was affectionately called Moa by all of her children, grands,
great grands, and great-great grands.
On Thursday, September 22, 2022, the beloved Matriarch of our family, Mrs. Agnes Lucille Smith Suber transitioned peacefully.
In addition to her parents,her husband, Dave, she was preceded in death by three children, including two sons: Charles Eugene Suber and Kenneth Andrew Suber and one daughter, Mary Helen Sober Walker; one grandson, Derrick Suber; a very special friend, James Dodson; five brothers (Bobby, John, Melvin, David, and O’Dell);three sisters (Mamie, Jervine, and Rosa Mae).
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, (five generations), her three children: David Jr. Suber (Deborah) of Anderson, SC; Mattie M. Suber Pratt (David) and Margaret A. Suber Towns (Bernard) both of Ware Shoals;16 grandchildren: Seven of those grands were raised in her home from birth and she referred to them as her very own (Jacqueline “Jack” Suber McGrier, Benjamin “Petey” Brownlee, Brooklyn “Precious” Walker Greene, Lumando “Micey” Hawthorne, Kenyatta “Kemmi” Suber), Deanna “Toot” Suber and Cierra “Ceesa” Suber; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Last but most definitely not least, She leaves one sister, Lydia (John) Fuller who will now wear the crown as our family matriarch.
Funeral service for Mrs. Agnes Suber will be 1 pm Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Mt. Lebanon AME Church - 150 Mt. Lebanon Church Road - Donalds, Sc
Viewing will be from 2-7pm Monday, September 26, 2022 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel at Robinson Walker Funeral Service.
Interment will be at Oakbrook Memorial Park - 3007 US 25, Hodges, SC following funeral service.
