Artis Lee Hawthorne, 66, of 74 Upper Shady Grove Road, Donalds, South Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of Otto and Rosa Lee Dacus Hawthorne.
Artis was married to Mary Morgan Hawthorne and from this union two children were born, Patrick Hawthorne and Chalacy Hawthorne.
Artis was employed at Chiquola Mill in Honea Path, South Carolina as a textile worker until he retired.
Artis was preceded in death by both of his parents, Otto and Rosa Lee Dacus Hawthorne, one brother, Lamar Hawthorne and one sister Jackie Robinson.
Artis leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Mary Hawthorne, of the home, one son, Patrick Hawthorne, one daughter, Chalacy (James Robinson) Hawthorne; one brother, Timothy Hawthorne, of Anderson, SC; five sisters, Viola (Jimmie) Arnold, of Belton, South Carolina, Verenna Hawthorne, of Honea Path, South Carolina, Eva Mae Litman, of Anderson, South Carolina, Sherry (Curtis) Wideman and Alice Novella Simpson, of Honea Path, South Carolina; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Funeral service for Mr. Artis Lee Hawthorne will be 1pm Monday, April 6, 2026 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
Viewing will be 12pm until the hour of service on Monday April 6, 2026 in the funeral home chapel.
The family are at their respective homes.
