Clara Ese Calhoun

Clara Calhoun, 75, of 96 Lower Shady Grove Road, Donalds, SC, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 at her home.

Born in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of Virginia Makins and John Vester and Cora Latimer Calhoun. 

Clara was a meek and humble person who loved to care for children.  She was a member of Dunn Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Riegel Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Vester and Cora Calhoun, siblings, Jerry Dean Calhoun, Lester Makins, and Jannie Mae Tennant.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her mother, Virginia Makins, Abbeville, SC;  brothers, Curtis Johnson, Robert Makins, Luther Makins, Kenneth Makins, all of Ware Shoals, SC and Johnny J. Calhoun, Iva, SC; sisters, Doris M. Watt, Ware Shoals, SC, Joann Posley (Gerald), Rockford, IL, Barbara Young, Washington, DC and Bonnie Makins Posley (Dennis), Greenwood, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Dunn Creek Baptist Church in Ware Shoals, SC. 

Burial will be in the Dunn Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 12noon-8pm Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of her brother, Mr. Johnny J. Calhoun, 1820 Old Landfill Rd., Iva, SC 29655.
