Edward Evans Jr

Edward Evans Jr, 76, of 335 Dairy Rd, Honea Path, SC, passed on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at NHC HealthCare, Laurens.

Edward was born in Laurens County and was the son of Edward Evans Sr. and Katie Jordan Evans.

Edward worked for Delta Woodside Textile Mill as a mechanic fixer. Edward was an active Christian Hope Baptist Church member in Ware Shoals, SC where he served as a trustee and a board member. He was a member of the Class of 1967 at Sanders High School of Laurens County. His hobbies include: fishing, farming, gardening, and small engine repair.

Edward Evans Jr was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jimmy “Jolly” Evans, Isaac “Duck” Evans, and Alfonzo “Buddy” Evans; two sisters, Shirley Evans Jones and Ophelia BABA Richardson and one grandson, Christopher Ty Evans ll.

Edward leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving and faithful wife Euphemia of 53 years; two sons, Edward Evans III of Due West, SC and Christopher Evans of Laurens, SC; two daughters, Rochelle Williams, of Simpsonville, SC and Michelle Evans of Fountain Inn, SC; four brothers, Apostle Sherwood Evans (Dian), of Newberry ,SC, Carroll Wayne Evans, of Waterloo, SC and Kavin “Butch” Evans(Francis), of Honea Path, SC; 10 grandchildren; five great grands; four sisters-in-law, Edith Jones of Chicago IL, Elizabeth Young, of Greenwood SC, Bessie Barmore, of Donalds, SC and Sandra Evans, of Ware Shoals, SC; two brothers-in-law, Alexander (Betty) Jones and Ervin Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

The family is at the home of his brother, Mr. Kavin (Frances) Evans, 107 Dairy Road, Honea Path, SC.

Funeral Service will be held 2pm Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Christian Hope Baptist Church in Ware Shoals, SC. 

The body will be placed in the church at 1pm prior to funeral service. 

Burial will be in the Christian Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be from 3-7pm Monday, July 10, 2023 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
