Essie Mae Durant, 80, of 108 Jones Court, Ware Shoals, South Carolina, passed away, Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Roy Jones and Azalee Patterson Jones.
Essie was employed in manufacturing as a textile worker.
Essie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alexander Durant Sr., one daughter, Ida Mae Coleman, and two brothers, Edward Jones, Sr and Willie Ray "Kelly" Jones.
Essie leaves to cherish her precious memories, son, J. B. (Abbie) Agnew Jr., of Honea Path, South Carolina; one daughter, Willie Mae Durant, of Ware Shoals, South Carolina; two brothers, Robert Jones and Melvin (Mary) Jones both of Ware Shoals, South Carolina; three sisters, Naomi Agnew, Alberta Coates, and Frances Jones all of Ware Shoals, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
