Euphemia Jones Evans, 80, passed away, Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Born in Abbeville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Erskine William Jones and Nolie Hunter Jones.
Euphemia was employed as a spinner at Chiquola Mill and a caregiver at the Whitten Center until she retired.
Euphemia was married to the late Edward Evans Jr. and unto this union four children were born.
Euphemia was a faithful member of Christian Hope Baptist Church in Ware Shoals, South Carolina. She enjoyed canning vegetables, especially chow chow and preserving fruit. She loved spending time with her family.
Euphemia was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Evans Jr.; parents, Erskine and Nolie Jones; one grandson, Christopher Tyrone Evans II; three brothers, Erskine Jones, Jr., Alfred Jesse Jones, and Ervin Alvin Jones; and two sisters, Amanda Jones Thompson and Geneva Lola Clement.
Euphemia leave to cherish her loving memories two sons, Edward Evans III, of Due West, South Carolina and Christopher Tyrone Evans, of Honea Path, South Carolina; two daughters, Alicia Michelle Evans, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina and Lucretia Rochelle Williams, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; one brother, Alexander Marion Jones, of Donalds, South Carolina; three sisters, Edith Inez Jones, of Chicago, Illinois, Elizabeth Ann Young, of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Bessie Mae Barmore ,of Donalds, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Kiera Evans, Tiffany Evans, Belicia Evans, Edari Moore, Kaneisha Williams, Kadarius Williams, Calandra Evans, Kaylyn Evans, Natalie Parker, Camron Evans and Reece Evans; eight great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Funeral service for Mrs. Euphemia Jones Evans will be 2pm Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Christian Hope Baptist Church.
Viewing will be 3-7pm Saturday, August 2, 2025 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
The family is at the home of the son, Edward Evans III, 956A Ellis Road, Donalds, SC.
