James Benton Posley, 76, of 2105 Sam Hodges Road, passed away, Wednesday October 5, 2022 at Prisma Health Memorial Hosptial in Greenville, South Carolina.
Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of Freddie Posley and Rosalee Barmore Posley.
James was a graduate of Emma Maddox High School. After graduating, he began working at Riegel Mills in Ware Shoals, South Carolina and later transitioned to the Walmart Distribution Center where he worked as a Utility Associate for over 20 years until he retired.
James was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he served as Vice Chairman Deacon, Member of the Brotherhood, LRMBA Senior's Ministry and was a member of the Men's Choir. James also served as a Mason and belonged to Dunns Creek Masonic Lodge 302.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Reverend Linda Clinkscales Posley; his parents, Freddie and Rosalee Barmore Posley; four brothers, Henry Posley, Robert Posley, Sloan Posley, and Albert Posley; and two sisters, Nannie Miller and Betty Brownlee.
James leaves to cherish his loving memories, three daughters, Benetta (Darryl) Anderson, of Ware Shoals, South Carolina, Renee (Derrick) Young, Abbeville, South Carolina, and Kimberly Posley, of Iva, South Carolina; three brothers, David (Doris) Posley, of Rockford, Illinois, Larrry (Elizabeth) Posley Sr., of Rockford, Illinois, and Gerald (Joanne) Posley Sr., of Rockford Illinois; one sister, Vera Jamison, of Rockford, Illinois; five grandchildren, Chris Posley, LaPorsche Craighead, Brittany (Frederick) Mansel, Trinity Vincent and KJ Vincent; eight great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a loving devoted companion, Lorraine Henderson; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be 2pm, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Hodges, South Carolina.
Burial will be in the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery following funeral service.
Viewing will be Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4-8pm in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel at Robinson Walker Funeral Service in Ware Shoals, South Carolina.
