Leroy McGrier Jr

Leroy (Bug) McGrier Jr., age 63, passed away on July 2, 2024, after a three (3) year-long battle with cancer. Leroy was born on January 04, 1961, in Washington D. C., to Leory and Magnolia McGrier. Leroy (Bug) considered Ware Shoals, S.C., his hometown.

Leroy (Bug) was deeply devoted to his family. His love for his only daughter, Kenyatta Sweeney, and his two beautiful grandchildren, Ariana and TJ, was boundless. He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

Leroy (Bug) is survived by his daughter (Tennessee) Kenyatta (Terrance) Sweeney , his granddaughter Ariana Sweeney, grandson TJ Sweeney ; his father (Arizona) Leroy (Josephine) McGrier Sr.; sisters (S.C) Lee Bates; (Michigan) Joyce Angela Russell and Aretha (Ken) Long; (Arizona) Lee Paulette McGrier; brothers (S. C.) Dennis (Debra) McGrier; Darryl (Ethel) McGrier: Donnie (Jackie) McGrier, (D.C) Michael(Jutina) McGrier; (Arizona) Capers (Shelly) McGrier.Host of Nieces and Nephews from Michigan, South Carolina, Arizona, and Washinton, D. C.

Leroy (Bug) was preceded in death by his mother, Magnolia (Butler) McGrier, of Ware Shoals, South Carolina.

Visitation will be held on July 9, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home. The service will be held on July 10, 2024, at Little River Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Dunns Creek Cemetery. A reception will be held at the White House Community Activities Center in Ware Shoals. The pallbearers will be nephews Aarif Russell, Nathan Russell, Randall McGrier, Marcus Bates, Dennis McGrier Jr., and Moses McGrier. The flower girls will be nieces Kenyetta McGrier, Cierra Suber, DeAnna Suber, Yolanda McGrier, and Sherika Terrell.

Leroy (Bug) will be fondly remembered for his gentle and compassionate nature. His love and passion for his family were evident in everything he did. All who had the privilege of knowing him will deeply feel his absence.
