Nathaniel Makins

Nathaniel Makins, 92, departed his earthly home on October 30, 2022, at NHC Laurens.  Born in Honea Path, SC on August 31, 1930, he was the son of John Makins and Mary Latimer Makins.

Mr. Makins worked with Daniel Construction in his early years and his job provided him with an opportunity to travel. As he aged he worked on a farm where he plowed a mule, tended the animals on the farm, and he also enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Makins was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Whitmore Makins, six brothers. Fred, Abraham, Matthew, Bennie, Alexander and O’dell Makins; one sister, Magnolia Anderson.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, one sister, Virginia Makins of Abbeville, SC and several nephews, Henry, Luther, Kenny, Robert and Curtis Makins, Lionel Hamilton; several nieces, Jeanette Valentine, Doris Watts, Barbara Young and Bonnie Makins, Betty Makins, Deborah Holland, Virginia Gunthorp, Madeline Makins, Koum and Donna Makins; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Nathaniel Makins will be held 2pm Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel at Robinson-Walker Funeral Service in Ware Shoals, South Carolina.

Viewing will be from 11 am - 2pm Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel at Robinson-Walker Funeral Service in Ware Shoals, South Carolina.
