Terry Leon Crawford

Mr. Terry Leon Crawford was born November 6, 1954 to Mr. Carvin Crawford Jr. and Mrs. Bobbie Nell Keller Crawford in Ware Shoals, SC.

Terry moved to New York at an early age and was educated in the New York City School Systems.

At the age of 16 Terry continued his education at the Harry Lundelberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, Maryland. Terry served as a seaman in the United States Merchant Marine; sailing the many seas and visiting other countries around the world.

May 4, 1982 Terry married LeKenda Gatlin and from that marriage produced one son, Jarva Crawford.

Terry later successfully enrolled and completed electrician’s class and became an excellent and experienced electrician, which he loved.

Terry relocated back to Ware Shoals later in life and was employed with multiple construction companies as an electrician. He retired at an early age.

Terry leaves to cherish his memory, mother Bobbie Nell Crawford, Ware Shoals, SC; wife, LeKenda Gatlin Crawford, Norfolk, VA; two sons, Jarva Crawford, Ware Shoals, SC, and Codey Gatlin, Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Martha (Percy) Grant, West Palm Beach, FL; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step brothers, LaTroy Crawford, Far Rockaway, NY and Edward Chamberlain, Atlanta, GA; two step-sisters, Tina (Roy) Hollis-Johnson, Brooklyn, NY, and Cheryl Ryland, Far Rockaway, NY; a special uncle, Sonny “Luther” Keller, Atlanta, GA; four special aunts, Frances Johnson, Detroit, MI, Inez Rich, Detroit, MI, Martha Key, Bristol, TN, and Nettie Wooley, Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Carvin Crawford Jr.; one brother, David Crawford; and one sister, Janice Crawford.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, May 22, 2020 at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Ware Shoals, SC.

The body will be on view Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home from 3pm-7pm.

Burial will be held at Oak Brook Memorial Park in Hodges, SC.

The family is at the home of his mother, Bobbie Nell Crawford, 71 Audubon Rd., Ware Shoals, SC.
