Theodore Hawthorne, 96, of 113 West Main Street Ware Shoals, South Carolina, passed away, Saturday, October 1st at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of JT Hawthorne and Ollie Olabell Thomas. Theodore found and married the love of his life Alzina (Alice) Davis January 19, 1947. Their family was complete with the addition of their only child, Betty.
Theodore was a hard worker and master craftsman. He was employed at Riegel Mills, as a textile worker, until Riegel closed in 1984. After retirement he worked with Parker White and helped care for his mother in her declining health.
Theodore was a faithful member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee and sung with the Jubilee Choir.
Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Alzina (Alice) Hawthorne; his parents, JT Hawthorne and Ollie Olabell White; maternal siblings; Willie White, Robert Black, Mack White, Walter White, Leo Williams, Grant White and Pearl Sherard; paternal siblings; Otto Hawthorne and JB Hawthorne.
Theodore leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Betty Harrison (Glenn), of Ware Shoals; one brother, Roosevelt White (Beverly), of Honea Path; one stepbrother, O’Dell Clinkscales, of Belton; two grandchildren, Tonya Spratley (Roger), of Raleigh, and Nicole Watson (Rodracus) of Greenville; five great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Funeral service will be 1pm Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 704 Trail Road, Belton, South Carolina.
Viewing will be from 3-7pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 in the Wilbur Robinson Memorial Chapel at Robinson-Walker Funeral Service in Ware Shoals, South Carolina.
The family is at the home of his daughter, Betty Harrison, 115 West Main Street, Ware Shoals, South Carolina.
